It’s Good to be The King of Pops!

30 May

On a recent trip to Atlanta, Georgia – I was introduced to a new treat that I am told is the new trend in the humid muggy Southeast. I guess this trend hasn’t made it’s way up to Virginia yet, as we are still crazy for soft-served yogurt and all you can imagine toppings. But there beside a small pushcart in the parking lot of Buddy’s Gas station, I met Steven Carse, The King of Pops.

These fruit-based popsicles are hand made by the owners and full of all natural ingredients. This cart offered up such flavors as Chocolate Sea Salt, Blood Orange Pineapple, Cherry Pomegranate, and Strawberry Lemonade. Whatever is in season has a good chance of making its way onto their always changing menu board.

Steven’s experimentations with recipies has paid off! The company has expanded to a handful of other cities and local shops have started carrying the brand. When he finds his way to Richmond, I will be sure to map out my long weekend rides to include a stop by The King of Pops!
